A few weeks ago, I visited NYC for the very first time. I have always wanted to go to New York and just decided it was the right time since I have several close friends there now. My friend Andie met me from Nebraska, and we stayed with our friend Dani. My friends Ashley, Levi, Andrew, and Kelsey also live in NYC so I knew it was going to be a great trip!
Kelsey had inquired awhile ago about getting some dance headshots and portraits done for her, since when she goes to auditions she needs some photos in her dance portfolio. I actually didn’t think we’d get to do it when she originally inquired, since I lived across the country, but when this NYC trip came up I was happy that she still needed portraits. I’ve watched Kelsey dance since high school, she was on the Shirette dance team and my goodness is she a gorgeous dancer. Kelsey has the warmest smile and kindest heart out of probably anyone I know.
We had an early morning photo shoot in Brooklyn; first at her apartment that has one incredible exposed brick wall, and then we walked over to a park close by. I love Brooklyn- it has a historic charm that I just adore. If I ever moved to NYC I think I would live in Brooklyn- it has such an artist and creative feel to it, I see why it appeals to a dancer! 🙂
What a great shoot this was, with beautiful warm light and lots of laughs. Warning: she’s a knockout! 🙂
