My dad and Nancy came to visit this past week and we had a ton of fun. We started the weekend with a trip to my sister’s cabin where we wined and dined and hiked our butts off. 6 miles later we were ready for a feast- we had 3 giant crabs to split between the 5 of us- I mean GIANT! My dad flew fresh corn from Nebraska with him again and we cooked that with the crab and sausage. We also had a lovely chocolate genache cake to finish our feast with to celebrate Gretchen’s birthday! Sunday was her actual birthday in which we had her famous swiss eggs for breakfast along with my dad’s legendary homemade waffles! We went on a small hike where my brother in law and I actually spotted a black bear (about 50-100ft away from us!) We scared it away before it could have us for lunch! Gretchen was upset that she didn’t get to see the bear but I found her a little caterpillar that was just as cool ;).
I finally got to go up to Snoqualmie Falls and then we walked around downtown Snoqualmie and explored the train museum and all that that little town has to offer! While my dad was here- we of course had ice cream every day- thank goodness for the hikes because I would’ve turned into a giant ice cream cone otherwise! 🙂
I also took them over to my favorite town in Washington- Port Townsend. We explored the day there in antique shops and out by the lighthouse on the beach. We ended the day with a lovely ferry ride and dinner with my good friends Tim and Stephanie- who just got married 2 weeks ago at the most beautiful wedding ever in Port Gamble! It was great trip and some much needed vacation and personal photo taking! Love you dad!
Here are some of my favorite instagrams to start off with!
My dad has kept this photo of my mom in his wallet along with the ticket stub from the concert they met at in his wallet since I can remember. He proposed to my mom after only knowing her for 2 weeks! Miss you Mama.
Now onto my DSLR photos 🙂
