Meeting Jonni and Megan was one of the most incredible things to happen to me last year. Being new to the Seattle area, not a lot of people know who I am and I don’t have a lot of wedding work out in the world and these two completely trusted me to document their day. I became friends with them during the process and they not only hired me to do their wedding, but also their traditional Chinese rehearsal dinner the night before and Megan did a special surprise session for Jonni for the wedding with me. I have been so overwhelmed with the love and kindness these two not only show towards each other, but towards me as well.
I felt like I was more than just their wedding photographer, I was part of their day. Megan and her family/friends handmade most of the details from the day- one of my favorites was the “love notes” frame they had made that had all of their notes they had written to each other in high school framed in a giant heart. They have known each other for almost 10 years and really bring out the best in each other.
This wedding was nothing short of a dream- from all their personal touches to the intimate ceremony in their backyard that Megan’s dad transformed into a beautiful space that was once covered in trees and weeds and their magical sparkler exit and photos we did from that- it was perfection. Megan and Jonni expressed to me how important photography was to them and how much they wanted to have great portraits, so we took a little drive to Picnic Point Park to take a few portraits on the beach. I literally left the wedding pinching myself and thinking “Did that really just happen? Did they really choose me to document their day?” and I still to this day pinch myself.
The reason it’s been so long since the wedding since I’ve blogged is because I was waiting to hear back from a few wedding blogs to see if this would get featured, and I just decided that enough is enough and I need to share this wedding because even if it doesn’t get picked up somewhere, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t one of the most incredible days I’ve had the honor of being part of. Congrats Megan and Jonni, you two are going to have a long and happy life together.

I still can’t believe I did this. So stoked.
