I truly believe that people come into your life for a reason. Just last year, Lindsay called me up because she had seen my photos of Abby and Scott and she also grew up in Nebraska and wanted me to come down to Portland to take photos of her family. I right away said yes and we scheduled a date. I stayed at their home that evening after driving down and feel like I’ve created a special bond with them ever since. They really feel like family.
When Lindsay told me that her and Jeremiah were planning on renewing their vows this year in an intimate ceremony with family and friends I immediately fell in love and wanted to be a part of it. This has been a big year for the Rector’s, with Jeremiah coming through cancer and Lindsay delivering twins as a surrogate. In the midst of highs and lows from this year, they really wanted to re-pronounce their love for one another in front of those closest to them. This family is so incredibly kind and full of love and I’m happy to know them.
Lindsay has incredible taste and style and really put together a gorgeous setting for her renewals- from venue changes twice and possible downpour on the day of, they decided to have the party in their home. They cleared out furniture and transformed their space and the sun came out and shined into their home lighting everything up. It didn’t start to rain until we were finished with portraits- it was a perfect day.
Here are just a few of the many images I took this past weekend.
Make sure to check out the family session I did of them last year, HERE.
Also, Lindsay and Jeremiah have a blog that is fantastic that you should check out HERE.
I can’t wait to share more of their images and story.
